XL Academics Supports the Illinois Secure Choice Savings Program

Today, a secure retirement is out of reach for over 2.5 million Illinoisans who do not have access to a retirement savings plan at work. Illinois needs a commonsense approach that helps encourage private savings so more people can have the freedom to live independently throughout their lives, relying less on government safety-net programs.

The Illinois Secure Choice Savings Program (Senate Bill 2758) makes it easy for small businesses to provide a basic retirement savings option for their employees. Through voluntary retirement accounts, the program promotes self-reliance and empowers workers to save for their own retirement.

The Illinois Secure Choice Savings Program is supported by AARP Illinois, the Shriver Center, the Woodstock Institute, Heartland Alliance, SEIU Illinois/Indiana and over 45 other businesses, associations and advocacy groups.
